Re: Pink Floyd- Wish You Were Here
Not my favo PF album. Maybe number 7 or 8 on the Top 15 list. It ain't an unworthy album. But, if you listen to all Floyd albums in chronological order WYWH is the first album that shows signs of regression in the sense of going backards. They reached zenit with Dark Side and just couldnt go much further. In sound it is much more close to Meddle than to anything after it.

Woah. This album.
HOW do you make an album like this?
From the journey that is Shine On, the aggression on Welcome To The Machine, Roy Harper's brilliant vocals on Have A Cigar and the sheer emotion of the title track make this one of my all time favourite albums. Not quite The Wall, Animals or The Division Bell to me, but a brilliant album nonetheless.
It's right there with Saucerful Of Secrets, Obscured By Clouds and DSOTM.
This album is the prefect album, as seems to be Floydian tradition. I struggle to find a bad Floy song besides Several Species and A New Machine Pt. 1 and 2 though. I'll just lap up anything by those 5, solo or together.

It's a great album all the way through. Perfect to put on outside, in the summer, with a nice breeze rolling through and a BBQ cooking.space triangle wrote: Mon Oct 16, 2023 9:19 amNice to see some respect for the Division Bell.Ashes andDiamonds07 wrote:The Division Bell [/b] to me,
