You can get trance mixes of most Floyd albums , filled with Orb samples .
Alas The Orb had nothing to do with them , the quality of some of them backs that up .

Mooms opinion is his own. But if Dave really plays on those recordings, it will be a great stuff. I don't wanna hear any sampled stuff.
Your right his opinion is his own , which would be why I said nothing about it .
I was just stating a fact .
Like alot of people he is under the impression The Orb have remixed Floyd albums , cos they are full of Orb samples I dunno .
I was just stating that the Orb have never remixed a Floyd album , that's all .
So his opinion that he likes the Meddle remix , remains safe and intact .

It's okay, mate ThanQ for enlightening
I think you and Jack should just calm down. I dunno who started it, but maybe...
I have been nothing but calm .
I just stated the Orb have never remixed a Floyd album.
Then he came steaming in under the misapprehension that I somehow was dissing your opinion .
Its him that had the problem , I had none whatsoever .

Dave didn't. The Orb did not make the Floyd trance albums, but were sampled alongside the Floyd on those albums. Read the posts before you decide to rage next time.

JackReagan just has anger built up from these so called black "musicians" making a living for themselves.
and on topic: anyone know where to find any of that material posted last year before youtube took it off for copyright? lame.

Wow my radge post got deleted. Maybe thats for the greater good.
Either way I think this thread got confused. There are 2 trains of thought going on here.
1) Gilmour is playing on fresh Orb material.
2) Some trance remixes of Pink Floyd showed up which also used Orb samples (but were not made by The Orb). Gilmour did not play on those but his guitar work might have been taken from Floyd albums. Anybody can make a trance mix if you have the right software and understand how to do so, and the source material is pretty unlimited.
Found out about this today, preordered the 2CD edition immediately. Even if it's just fifty minutes of Gilmour noodling quietly in the background (as the three-minute sample sent out along with the order suggests), it's still a much more exciting prospect than 97% of the new music being released these days!

Yay another music nazi.
Unless you have listened to 97% of the music currently commercially available I suggest you open your mind a little more instead of listening to fat old guitarists playing jaded guitar licks and trying to convince yourself its amazing.
