Thanks!
Well, since I still have some "spare time" before his majesty's arrival, I made another track just for fun.
It's easy, it's in D major and sounds quite allright. This is the one you know...

Another nice one Bran.
I've always enjoyed the Meltdown DVD.

Very nice Bran David's cover of this is one of my favourites from the Meltdown DVD. Are you compiling a CD of Floydian lullabies to help junior sleep?

Well, I'm in a more softer mood when it comes to music, so it might be that a compilation of that sort will eventually pop up.
Thing is that I have trouble recording distorted guitar directly through the mixing desk then onto the comp and lack of drums (dont want to use the ones on the keyboard) and a proper bass - I'm detuning strings on acoustic guitar and then I'm changing the tone colour.
So, when I figure out how to successfuly use a distorted sound I'll make something "harder".
I can plug the guitar in the guitar amp and stick a mic infront, but the result is with far too hiss and noise that I cant clean up properly afterwards.

You could use a VST distortion, look here. Some of them are free.
You might also find nice 'drums' on that site.

That's gorgeous. Junior certainly seems to have spurred you on to musical greatness. I hope the sleepless nights and endless nappies won't stop you in your tracks

Re: Gonna have a son!
It is a tricky business. Distortion pedals tend to give off quite a wide frequency range, so try and cut those down with a Graphic EQ pedal or something. Amp speakers tend to cut low and high frequencies and 'taste' the mid frequencies differently depending on the amp. Vox amps are quite boxy, Marshalls are honky and Fenders are sparkly!Damn!t wrote:I have trouble recording distorted guitar directly...

Re: Gonna have a son!
Congrats! I know the birth of my son was the best day of my life.
On recording a guitar amp. I don't try to record directly. I use the XLR outputs of my Crate stereo amp into my recorder, where I can use eq and other effects layered on to my Crate's effects. I just wish I had your talent.
