i was there. it was cool to see the floyd, but it didn't compare to seeing the classic floyd line-up live. the reconstituted post waters floyd was a surrogate band. i saw the wall live. now THAT was a show. i just wish i had seen the other classic 70s tours of theirs. i was too young.

Either Boston 75 or 77... It's my home town, and both shows were excellent on respective tours. I was just too young to see either. Saw both 87 (88) and 94 tours in Providence and Foxboro. 94 was definitely better, but the grass is always greener...
Saw Waters in Worcester 87 also, have to say his show was more theatrical. better musically? no.

The Wall Tour (1980-1981)
The Division Bell Tour (1994)
I'd wholeheartedly attend any show of the these tours.

As we have some videos of them playing their 1970s, 1980 and 1990 sets I guess my fantasy would be watching them all underground playing at the UFO, or a little later when they toured with Jimi Hendrix, that would be my choice. You know, I would stay for the Hendrix set too! How can you top that?

Versailles 1988 looked a bit special. Found some rare footage on YT.

I would love a 5 man Floyd for those few concerts or one of the Dark Side of the Moon ones. Or an Animals one too.
The final cut tour !
The set list in the middle of the programme shows the first half of the show was to be The Final Cut in its entirety and the second half was to consist of
Another Brick pt 2, Mother, Hey you, Wish You Were Here, Have a Cigar, Time, Us and Them, Money, One of these days, Set the controls, Careful with that
axe Eugene and Astronomy Domine'

Were the band not getting a bit 'lost' by the time of the Hendrix tour due to Syd's behaviour onstage?rememberaday wrote:No, you can't top that.

I saw 2 concerts in 1994 (the ultimate!)... So, I think my second choice would be (if I had a time machine, since I was 2 years old in 1975) a show from the U.S. 1975 tour. I love "You Gotta Be Crazy" (better than Dogs) and I would have seen the complete polished Dark Side Set, AND Echoes (an all-time favorite). (Third choice would be a 1980 Wall concert.)

Any of them really since I only ever saw them in Philly in 1994 and Roger in 2010.
But more specifically:
--Any of The Man and The Journey shows
--March 6 or 7, 1973. Childhood's End, Obscured By Clouds/When You're In performed
--May 15, 1971 Crystal Palace Bowl, Garden Party. The serpent rising out of the lake in front of the stage must have been mind bending, not to mention the music! Classic set list!
