Re: Double Core II
More power to you, I can't work under deadlines like that. Good think I'm just waiting on the lyrics for "Awaken Trembling" before I get to work on the music.

I'm doing my best but I'm stuck with a few lines. I'd say it's 90% done though, it won't be long til it's finished. A few more days tops. Thank you for patience.

Re: Double Core II
I'm just pleased at the progress this project has already made in just a few days.
There's still five songs up for grabs, folks!

Re: Double Core II
I think it's pretty much done. The meter is a bit uneven, but I don't think it should be much of a problem. Also, unless you already noticed, English is not my first language so if there are any grammatical errors feel free to correct them.
So here it is.
Awaken Trembling
You awaken trembling in the middle of the night
And gaze through the window into a dim street light
You reach for a hand in the darkness, unseen
Unsure if it was memory or just a bad dream
Just close your eyes and count backwards from ten
And suddenly you're in that same old room again
The TV is on, the bottle half done
The deck has been shuffled for another hand
And you find yourself standing in front of the stone
Fixed by unfamiliar eyes you once seemed to know
And you choose not to take part in the crime
As you bid your farewells to the ones left behind
And no one can bathe you from feeling of guilt
Desolation is the house that you built
The light is still on, the bottle's long gone
You wait for the card to turn but it never will
So you stare into darkness as your time extends
Just trying to grasp all the loose ends
As you contemplate futures you'll never create
And your own immortality's expiry date
*ducks*

Re: Double Core II
What kind of a timeline do you think we're looking at here? I have very busy month in November, and won't likely be able to get to really working on this until after that.

Re: Double Core II
OK guys here goes and I am happy for somebody with musical talent to take it from here
Playing for Keeps (part one)
Under a sky of grey grit and gloom
with broken promises in primal bloom
Stolen time and aimless aggressions
to fallen soldiers and diplomatic concessions
The assemblage gather all dressed in black
silent remembrance to names on the plaque
Celestial voices sing loud in the choir
while the dreamers fly too close to the wire
Abandoned lonesome, the wind and the rain
Staring out searching for something to blame
The generals were posturing with tanks and jeeps
whilst the broken hearts were just playing for keeps
Polished ribbons and medals of honour
with hushed tones of what makes you stronger
They say that time heals all wounds
as we continue to visit terminal tombs
Abandoned lonesome, the wind and the rain
Staring out searching for something to blame
The generals were posturing with tanks and jeeps
whilst the broken hearts were just playing for keeps
Broken dreams and eyes counting sheep
In the end all we were doing was just playing for keeps

To Hudini:
I'm loving those lyrics, I'll get right down to making some music for them! I'm no singer or guitarist, so those aspects will be missing from what I come up with, but everything else should be fine.
