T-Rex inspiration in "Obscured by clouds"?

Post by KwQ »

Hi guys!
I noticed that part of "You're in" from "Obscured by clouds" is similar to T-Rex "Children of a revolution ". Am I right? Is it any story behind it?

Children of the Revolution was from September 1972 and Obscured by Clouds was out in June 1972 so I guess it could have been an inspiration. T-rex probably recorded theirs before Obscured was released I would think. But I am not sure.

It's fairly common riff, the first example I can think of would be from The Who's Tommy from 1969 - the 'Captain Walker' part of 'Overture' and also at the start of 'Sparks'.
