I watched it and it was the usual Roger being Roger, no big deal if you know his politics. I didn't have a problem with anything he said.

I think he puts the rant on for show and effect. And as much as he claims that the show is the vehicle for the message, the politics and protest is an essential in-your-face part of the show. But, he's also a perennial protester. It's a fair deal: fans pay their money and get a spectacular show, he gets to rant and rave, and the rest of the world carries on regardless.

Ukraine coined the phrase "Russian Warship, Go Fuck Yourselves". Now I'm going to shorten it to "R.W., GFY".

Look, I can see how what he has said may anger many people, but I have to point that EVERYTHING he said was true. Yes, Biden is fuelling the Ukrainian war. Yes, Israel should get out of Palestine. And yes, the invasion is, if you really think about it, NATO's fault. And yes, Taiwan has been accepted by the world as a part of China since 1948. And this interview shows what I admire most about Roger; he says these things knowing they are going to affect his popularity and show sales. While other musicians will say certain things so people will think 'Oh, what a great guy, he says this and that and all of what he says is the exact same as popular opinion,' whereas Roger says what he wants to say, regardless of any back-lash he receives.

While I may not share in all of his political opinions, the one thing I’ve always admired about Roger is his continued belief that a discomforting truth is much more important than a rosy lie.

I'm very happy you agree with me on this. While I do share most of his opinions, no matter how controversial (Ukraine and Palestine for example), I would still admire how he just go's out and says them even if I disagreed with all of them.

If you really think about it without looking at the situation correctly, maybe. There are thousands of articles out there debunking this simple finger-pointing explanation so I'm not even going to try but I find this statement repulsive - no matter who utters it.

The ultra-short version is: Ukraine had not been admissible for NATO since Russia started chipping away at its territory in 2014.

Don't get me wrong, I disagree with Roger's dismissal of the fact/idea that China is killing there own people. Personally, I feel there is too much evidence proving him wrong. But yes, I do feel he is right about Ukraine, Biden and the U.S.
