He might walk around the stage giving a guided tour to his favourite venue's history and cultural heritage.

I'm astonished we're getting gigs (That I can't get to or afford!). I think his age might have something to do with it.
A residency makes more sense than a gruelling world tour. Less travelling. More stable environment than going country to country and expecting his gear to get through border controls (Brexit benefits!) in time for the shows.

I couldn't do a world tour at 42 let alone his age!

Re: Polly confirms new album for David Gilmour
I've been away for a while, and I think it's no surprise as to what bought me back.
I've read Keith's piece on the lyrics of 'The Piper's Call', but for me what attracts me the most is the music. When I first heard TPC, it starts quite slow and I did think 'this is the lead single'. Also, Dave's voice isn't as good as it was, which is no surprise for a man of his age. We're lucky to have as much voice as there is.
Even the first time I listened to the track, I did notice that it grows as it progresses throughout the track. Starting near acoustic, but building into something much denser. Even though the later instrumentation is somehow PF-like, it doesn't sound like PF to me. And, there's no reason why it should.
The more I listen to this track, the more I like it. It's very much a grower. Both in the way that the arrangement grows, and with my appreciation of the song growing the more times I listen to it.
I'm very much looking forward to the album. If you'd asked me in the 70s or 80s if 'the guys' would still be releasing albums into their late 70s, I'd have thought no way. We're lucky that they are not retiring.

Ticketmaster has not been a good experience for many people. Good you got tickets.

Of you’d prefer not to stand and don’t mind paying a little extra, RAH frequently get people selling their tickets back to the venue. If I’m ever unhappy with my tickets, I usually call RAH on the morning of the gig I’m seeing and ask if they have any availability for an upgrade. Obviously you have to cover the uplift in ticket price, but I’ve done it quite a few times now.
