First of all, I'm not a fan of neither Hamas nor IDF or Hizbullah whatsoever..
But..
The day after Russia invaded Ukraine, Dave has stopped all the streaming media for Russian IPs, and made a single with a Ukranian rapper, all the royalties to be donated to Ukranian charities..
I know he does all this because his daughter in law is Ukranian, but, c'mon.. at least a word, like "stop killing babies".. I don't expect Dave to react like Roger, but..
Please let me know if he said something on a newspaper or another media, or even to any friend / relative who sees this forum.

He is probably avoiding commenting on such matters because there's his new album out and probably got fed up of the problems Roger caused to the band's catalogue sales due to Rog's interviews.

Why has he got to say anything in the first place concerning the issue between Israel and her enemies?frackman wrote: Thu Oct 24, 2024 12:53 pm

He also pushed Nick to cancel already sold out NMSOS shows in Moscow and Saint Petersburg that were scheduled for the summer 2022.
I am convinced that the Ukraine thing is there only because Gilmour's adopted son Charlie (Polly's son) married an Ukrainian lady (Janina). Without any of that, we would have no comments or charity singles for Ukraine either.

yeah, those are great points indeed.
Plus, he has absolutely no obligation on involving himself in each cause. He has the right to choose the ones he will support, as well as all of us.

As much as David has the right to his own opinions on these things, I've always found it quite interesting how he allegedly disliked a lot of Roger's work during The Wall and especially The Final Cut because it was too personal (I would imagine songs like When the Tigers Broke Free and such) yet he's recently done the Ukrainian single not as a solo single but by bringing the Pink Floyd name out of retirement.

Yes, the Ukraine single is even more directly political than anything on The Final Cut (the most political Pink Floyd record until 2022).

Agreed, hamas , the terrorist organisation should be stopped. They started a war by killing babies. Dave should support Israel.frackman wrote: Thu Oct 24, 2024 12:53 pm I know he does all this because his daughter in law is Ukranian, but, c'mon.. at least a word, like "stop killing babies".. either way you look at it, he is damned if he does damned if he doesn't. Him saying anything could or would affect sales and his brand image and is why he has kept his views private, so he is avoiding getting involved or saying anything on the matter in public. At end of the day his pages are about him and his music and whatever Floyd related releases.
