Favorite Solo Song
Ok, so we have had the "favorite floyd song" thread going on, what about your favorite Roger Waters song?
My vote, Every Strangers Eyes from Pros and Cons. I love this song, Roger singing at his best from start to finish. I am glad he keeps this in his set list too, I saw him perform this song on the KAOS tour, and love it on the In the Flesh DVD.

Musically I like Out Of The Blue by Gilmour but my favourite solo is from waters in Late Home Tonight (part 1).

Re: Favorite Solo Song
I also saw Roger during the radio KAOS tour, it was great. Personally I think P & C is his best solo effort to date. 5:06 ESE is my favorite as well.doctorb wrote:Ok, so we have had the "favorite floyd song" thread going on, what about your favorite Roger Waters song?

i liked the first song of TPACOH best, something to do with travelling away from the borders, whatever, i can't be bothered getting my cd though. A wonderful tune and some nice lyrics to, along with some very precise vocals. it all sounded so inplace and unlike the intro song to ATD properly set the scene for the rest of the album musically and conceptually.
I now have the live cd and i don't see why so many songs were taken from amused to death, that album came out in 92 so why a 99 tour would so heavily promote it i really don't know.
anyway, someone else reply.

Because there hasn't been a "Amused to death tour".David Smith wrote:i liked the first song of TPACOH best, something to do with travelling away from the borders, whatever, i can't be bothered getting my cd though. So Roger sang the ATD songs on In the Flesh tour.
My favourite songs are:
ESE
Tide is turning
Amused to death
Perfect sense ( live, this song is the best)

In terms of singing? If David sang them all and Roger wrote all the songs, it would be more of a Roger Waters album than it would be a Gilmour album. In fact it would be completely a Waters album and it just so happens that a man called David Gilmour did the lead vocals.doctorb wrote:Well I certainly would not consider this a RW solo project, and certainly this song has the most Dave in it of all of them!

Paul Carrack sung on 'The Powers that be'
Claire Torry sung on 'Four Minutes'
Katey Kissoon sung on 'Perfect Sense' parts 1 and 2
Don Henley sung on 'Watching TV'
Rita Coolidge sung on 'Amused to Death'
does this they are any less Roger Waters songs?
hell - Sinead O'Connor (of all people ) sung a few tracks off of Rick's 'Broken China'.. Still Rick Wright Songs.. (though he didnt really write the lyrics, did he....)
