What, you've never heard a cover of a song that you liked more than the original? How sad.Spinoza wrote:That's like saying: you performed SATISFACTION better than the ROLLONGSTONES THEMSELVES.
Anyway, Roger AND David wrote CN, so the versions of the song on ITF, PULSE, and David's DVD are NOT really covers...

I totally agree, and personally, while i like the 9 minute long Pulse version, i like ITF's version a lot more, and it seems at the right tempo.Real Pink in the Inside wrote:I think the ITF version of CN is better than the CN version on PULSE (And I have listened to each version a number of times after one another). With that said, I think the best version of CN is the studio version.
also, the 'dark' side of CN (roger's bit) sounds god damned awful on Pulse, like Dave and the boys are trying to take the mickey.
at least Doyle has a lovely voice.

As a whole, I agree that the PULSE version of CN isn't the best (the vocal part of The Doctor was done horribly). It does however, have the best solos.Real Pink in the Inside wrote:I think the ITF version of CN is better than the CN version on PULSE (And I have listened to each version a number of times after one another). IMHO shine on from DSOT is better than Pulse because it has those cool rototoms used in a few of the drum fills. (they're the drums used in the beginning of 'time')
way-hey. Pink Fraud are playing at the Standard in Walthamstow (Walthamstow, E17 - absolute dumphole for anyone that doesn't know) on Saturday if anyone's interested. They're really good.

I reckon the best ever version of CN is on Is There Anybody Out There..
The ITF version has good solos from Snowy and Doyle, but I'm not keen on Doyles singing here - he's got a good voice but I just don't think he's got the right tone for CN. Probably Chester Kamen did a better job singing that on the '02 tour..
The vocals for the doctor part are frankly rubbish on DSOT and Pulse, although the solos are obviously good and Dave does a great job with the chorus vocals of course..
best versions of CN:-
1 ISAOT
2 Studo
3 Pulse/ITF
4 DSOT
5 Berlin
Sorry I haven't heard Daves DVD yet so I can't comment where that version would fit!
