I love About Face, in fact it's one of my favorite CDs. I'm not kidding, either. I would never claim it's a better disc than, say, WYWH or DSOTM, but one's favorites and one's bests are two separate beasts.

There is something about his first solo album that always fits the bill when I'm getting a bit under the weather. There is something calm and relaxing about it that soothes me when I'd otherwise be about to vomit. It isn't the most profound reason to like an album, but it works for me...

David Gilmour is my favorite! Great guitar work, & neat vocals. Mihalis has one of the most beautiful guitar solos ever in rock!

David Gilmour. What he was thinking when he dropped Comfortably Numb from the album? Fortunaly Roger wrote much better lyrics than he could have done.

David Gilmour!!
It's a great album - I love 'There's no Way out of Here' and 'Short and Sweet'.. infact there's no bad songs on it!!
About Face is pretty poor IMO. 'Blue Light' and 'Love on the Air' make me cringe
Although Murder and Near the End are pretty decent..

I love There's No Way Out Of Here and All Lovers Are Deranged, from his first album, but Murder is also one of my all-time favorite tunes... I voted for the 1st album, tho.

Sorry- it's been awhile since I've listened to them, as I only have them on vinyl, and don't have a system to hook up my turntable with.... Either way, the 3 afore-mentioned songs are still my favorites, regardless of the albums they're on.
