The long-running programme typically invites famous guests to choose the music which means the most to them.
Elgar’s Enigma Variations was the second most popular entry, followed by Beethoven’s Symphony No 9 in D minor Choral – which has proved the top choice among guests on the show since it began in 1942.
Non-classical favourites included Queen’s Bohemian Rhapsody and Comfortably Numb by Pink Floyd.
