Syd Barrett Mosaic on eBay for Charity

A mosaic with title “Two Warriors” made by the late Roger Keith “Syd” Barrett in the 1960 has been put up for sale on auction website eBay. It is thought to be the only mosaic ever completed by the artist.
The current bid is currently just over £1,000 but will likely reach £6k-£7k if previous sales of his artwork are to go by! The reserve price has not currently been met.
The auction ends on 17-Feb-09 16:20:34 GMT.
The mosaic has never been out of possession of the Barrett family and is is only now going on sale in order to help raise funds to establish the Syd Barrett Centre for Arts in Mental Health in Syd’s hometown of Cambridge.
The mosaic has a thin wooden frame, also made by Syd Barrett, and comes with a letter of authencity signed by Rosemary Breen (nee Barrett), Syd Barrett’s sister.
Please note that the image rights to the mosaic will be retained by the Syd Barrett Trust after the mosaic has been sold.
