Roger Waters Re-Records Dark Side of the Moon

Roger Waters has revealed that he has re-recorded Pink Floyd’s Dark Side of the Moon album, and hopes to release it in May 2023, as a lavish vinyl accompanied by a concert! He has re-recorded it from scratch, without the involvement or even knowledge of any of his old band mates. Roger also recently released his new recording of Comfortably Numb, with the guitar solos removed, and replaced by vocals. It was released on his Lockdown Sessions release. He’s still polishing the final details but it should be released as a “lavish vinyl” and promoted with a concert. Given that Roger left Pink Floyd in the 1980s and doesn’t own the Pink Floyd name, it will very likely be released under his own name. Guy Pratt, who played bass for Pink Floyd after Roger Waters left in the 1980s, has been doing some explainer/tutorial videos on Youtube for fans to enjoy. His show is called “Lockdown Licks”. Guy has played bass on lots of famous songs and albums over the years and has a rather impressive resume. He is currently up to episode 4 where he covers a couple of Pink Floyd classics. Fans that have heard the re-recorded and re-mixed Later Years box set material will notice a lot of Guy’s original material was toned down – the band seemingly wanting a less 80s feel and more a timeless mix. Guy Pratt is an English bassist, guitarist, and singer. He was born on January 3, 1962 in London, England. Pratt is best known for his work as a session musician and touring member of the rock band Pink Floyd. Pratt started playing bass at a young age and was influenced by a range of artists, including Led Zeppelin, The Who, and Jack Bruce. He played in several local bands before starting his career as a session musician. In the 1980s, Pratt was recruited by Pink Floyd as a touring bassist and guitarist. Pink Floyd session bass player Guy Pratt is sharing his comedy with the world in July and August of this year in his show “Wake Up Call“. He has been rather successful with his comedy shows and is not just a bassplayer, you know!
