Syd Barrett Book Available as Paperback
If you wind your mind back all the way to March 2011 you will recall that an exceptional book called Barrett was released. It featured an incredible range of rare photographs that told the life story of Syd Barrett and his early Pink Floyd. You might also recall it was rather expensive – £300 for the signature edition! It was a premium hardback book, printed on luxurious paper and was constructed like a work of art in itself. The signature edition was truly exceptional and worth every penny. Writer Polly Samson, who is married to the voice and guitar of Pink Floyd David Gilmour, has a new book out in the UK next week called The Kindness. This is her fourth book following the successful Perfect Lives book of short stories in 2010. Brazilian Release for Pigs Might Fly: The Inside Story Of Pink Floyd by Mark Blake
A Portugese translation of Pigs Might Fly: The Inside Story Of Pink Floyd by Mark Blake is due for publication in Brazil on 5 March 2012. The book, now titled ‘Nos Bastidores Do Pink Floyd’, is published by Evora and has been rush-released to coincide with Roger Waters’ upcoming tour dates in Argentina and Brazil. The book is an excellent and evenly handled document of the history of Pink Floyd and is updated to post Syd Barrett’s untimely death. It is an enjoyable read and features opinions gleaned from 100s of interviews with people that have been part of the Pink Floyd history and had friendships with the band over the years.
