Syd Barrett auction at Cheffins in the UK features several rare items. Collectors and fans alike may be interested in these. They will be sold by the Cheffin’s Fine Art Division from a catalogue called The Art and Design Sale. Its on from 10am on Thursday 26th October 2023. Syd Barrett Painting up for Auction Feb 2022

A Syd Barrett painting is up for auction later this month for a guide price of £3,000-£5,000 plus fees. The painting, authenticated by Syd Barrett’s sister, Rosemary, is lot 284 in the Cheffin’s Art and Design auction from 10am on 24th February 2022. The painting last sold in 2006 in the original Cheffin’s auction of Syd Barrett’s belongings following his passing away. It was lot 719 and fetched £4,200 plus fees. Let’s introduce the painting, it is called ‘West Kennet- Earth and Sky watercolour’. West Kennet- Earth and Sky watercolour by Syd Barrett Brian Wernham, who is selling the painting, shared the following about the painting and auction. I have identified it as a painting of the megaliths at West Kennet. Syd Barrett’s Guitar Up for Auction

Pink Floyd founding member Syd Barrett’s 12 string guitar, which he discussed in his 1971 Rolling Stone interview, is up for auction by Cheffins. His nephew Mark Barrett, aged 57, is now selling the 12-string Yamaha acoustic guitar with proceeds to be split evenly between mental health charity Mind and the Arthur Rank Hospice in Shelford Bottom. Unseen Syd Barrett Painting up for Auction

Pink Floyd founding member Syd Barrett once gifted a painting he did to a former teacher when leaving high school aged fifteen. The son of that teacher is now selling the picture and is expected to bring £3k-£5k at an auction by Cheffins. The painting is called Orange Dahlias in a Vase and Syd painted it whist attending Cambridgeshire High School for Boys. Roger Waters and Storm Thorgerson also attended the same school. Orange Dahlias in a Vase is estimated to fetch £3,000 – £5,000 at the Cheffins Art & Design Sale in Cambridge on Thursday 27th May 2021.
