Burning Bridges Lyrics – Pink Floyd – Obscured By Clouds

Home / Pink Floyd Lyrics / Obscured by Clouds Lyrics / Burning Bridges Lyrics Burning Bridges (Wright, Waters) 3:29 Bridges burning gladlyMerging with the shadows,Flickering between the lines.Stolen moments floating softly on the air,Borne on wings of fire and climbing higher. Ancient bonds are breaking,Moving on and changing sides.Dreaming of a new day,Cast aside the other way.Magic visions stirring,Kindled by and burning flames rise in her eyes. The doorway stands ajar,The walls that once were high.Beyond the gilded cage,Beyond the reach of ties. The moment is at hand. She breaks the golden band. 01. Obscured By Clouds02. When You’re In03. Burning Bridges04. Gold It’s In The…05. Wot’s… Uh The Deal06. Mudmen07. Childhood’s End08. Free Four09. Stay10. Absolutely Curtains About the Song “Burning Bridges” is a track from Pink Floyd’s 1972 album “Obscured by Clouds,” which served as the soundtrack to the French film “La Vallée.” The song is noted for its melodic harmonies and contemplative mood, reflective of the album’s overarching themes of disconnection and...

The instrumental “Obscured by Clouds” sets a moody and anticipative tone for the album of the same name. Pink Floyd uses this opening track to immediately immerse listeners in a soundscape that is both enigmatic and driving, mirroring the obscured and unknown journey into the Papua New Guinean rainforest depicted in “La Vallée.” Built around a pulsating bassline and a stratum of synthesizer effects, the track unfolds with a...

The Surrogate Floyd By Andy Gibbons

The Surrogate Floyd By Andy Gibbons

2004’s return of a Pink Floyd song to the British singles charts via The Scissor Sisters was a prime example of the way that the band’s song catalogue is being taken up by other artists. Whilst the group itself seems to have receded over the horizon following the live reunion, musicians are showing a renewed interest in the band as a creative force. In the New Year DJ Eric Prydz issues a single using samples from Another Brick in the Wall and it seems that musicians are no longer intimidated by the Floyd’s reputation for occupying the summit of technical rock music. Scissor Sisters self-titled album Of course some bands are easier to cover than others – technical excellence is hard to beat. And some of Pink Floyd’s songs do not easily lend themselves to alternative versions – the length of tracks like Dogs and Echoes makes them unlikely candidates...

Memories of Knebworth 1975 By Freddy Bannister

Pink Floyd perform live at Knebworth 1975 as promoted by article authour Freddy Bannister. Click to enlarge. The 1975 Pink Floyd festival was without doubt my favourite out of all the festivals I promoted at Knebworth. Firstly, because Steve O’Rourke was one of the most pleasant people in the music industry with whom to work. Secondly, Steve, along with several members of the band, were like me total car nuts and thirdly, and probably most importantly to a promoter, they were prepared to work on a straight percentage. However, the event was not without its dramas! With the stage virtually finished the Floyd’s crew were busy rigging the large model aircraft that was used at one point during the performance. For maximum effect it had to fly over the heads of the audience before crashing into a corner of the stage. To achieve this effect a cable had been rigged...

Below: An old TDK C60 cassette tape! The first ever vinyl rock bootleg recording is commonly believed to be of Bob Dylan which had live tracks and basement recordings dating back to 1961 circulated around 1969. It was a collection of demos which went by the name of “Great White Wonder”. There are other recordings which precede this one but many are jazz and opera performances which may not be of interest to many rock fans! Since that first recording, the process of people...
