The Final Cut… Pink Floyd’s first and only album without Richard Wright, and the last with Roger Waters. As you can see it is a Roger Waters solo album… the only thing is that David Gilmour does all the guitar work, and Nick appears in some songs. The rest is all Roger Waters, and session musicians. When you look at the cover you see some stripes on a black background… and Pink Floyd-The Final Cut. When you look at the sleeve and at the album credits, you see song, after song , after...

An Ultimate Interstellar Overdrive – a track-by-track review of “The Piper At The Gates Of Dawn” By Andrei Kiisler, aka: moom

Piper cover as shot by Vic Singh If you are looking for THE BEST soundtrack to your acid trips, you won’t find any better than Pink Floyd’s debut album, “The Piper at the Gates of Dawn”. Recorded and released at the same time as The Beatles’ “Sergeant Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band,” with ideas borrowed from one another, it sounds much trippier- while The Beatles’ album – much hippier. 1. Astronomy Domine- Speech effects that were on the forefront of music technology, combined with spacey lyrics and melody into a whole new music science… Where astronomy dominates the mind. 2. Lucifer Sam- Although the song is about a cat, it sounds like one of James Bond’s movie themes. Every instrument represents something about a cat: Wright’s organ meows, the bass is a sneaking sound, “and whip-like sounds and special effects further the feline theme”. The cat’s real name was “Percy...

Delicate Sound Of Touring ’87-‘90 – A history of the Momentary Lapse Of Reason 1987-1990 Tour By Christian Bobocea

Pink Floyd’s A Momentary Lapse of Reason Front Cover as designed by Storm Thorgerson. After Roger Waters left the band in 1985 there was a lot of tension between Pink Floyd (Nick Mason & David Gilmour) and Roger. According to the band, Roger was pressuring them to stop making any new material or tour without him. David didn’t give an answer according to him and waited until the summer of 1986 when he contacted Nick Mason and said that he was ready to make another Pink Flloyd Record. During the recording of the album, Roger tried to stop the band, he didn’t succeed and A Momentery Lapse Of Reason was realesed in 1987 and hit #3 in the Billboard Charts. After that Pink Floyd kicked off in what was ment to be a short tour. Uncertien if the tickets would sell only a few dates where put in for sale...

Interstellar Pink Floyd Paris Exhibition Review

Interstellar Pink Floyd Paris Exhibition Review

Coming out of the metro (Station Porte de Pantin, Line 5) I stand directly in front of the Cité de la Musique. One cannot miss the display announcing the PINK FLOYD INTERSTELLAR EXHIBITION and the multiple posters at the side of the portal. I walk into the direction of the entrance and discover at my left hand the huge flatable Pig (Animals Tour 1977) on top of the exit of the amphitheatre. On the ground in front of that exit, three blue pyramids are placed from The Dark Side Of The Moon. At the entrance door is “Fat Man” located also from the Animals Tour. A small sign at the wall explains for those who are not that familiar with Pink Floyd how the displayed items are named and when or where they were used. Too bad it’s all written in French language and not as well explained in English (a minor point noted). Immediately when...

Alan’s Psychedelic Breakfast Lyrics – Pink Floyd – Atom Heart Mother

Home / Pink Floyd Lyrics / Atom Heart Mother Lyrics / Alan’s Psychedelic Breakfast Lyrics Alan’s Psychedelic Breakfast (Waters, Mason, Gilmour, Wright) 13:00 (Instrumental) 01. Atom Heart Mother02. If03. Summer ’6804. Fat Old Sun05. Alan’s Psychedelic Breakfast About the Song “Alan’s Psychedelic Breakfast” is a three-part instrumental track from Pink Floyd’s album “Atom Heart Mother,” released in 1970. It’s a piece that combines typical instrumental segments with non-musical sound effects to create an auditory collage that is reflective of the experimental nature of the band during this era. The piece features roadie Alan Styles, who provides both the sound effects of preparing and eating breakfast and the spoken elements, giving the track an organic and intimate feel. In the whimsically titled “Alan’s Psychedelic Breakfast,” Pink Floyd takes listeners through a unique sonic journey, intertwining music with the everyday sounds of a morning routine. This experimental piece is divided into three movements— “Rise and Shine,” “Sunny Side Up,” and “Morning...
