Roger Waters Record Store Day 2024 DSotM Redux

Roger Waters Record Store Day Release April 2024

Roger Waters is supporting Record Store Day 2024 by releasing a picture disc edition of his Dark Side of the Moon Redux. The event takes place annually and allows artists and fans alike to support independent stores selling Vinyl in the UK and USA. This year’s event takes place on 20th April 2024. There will only be 3,000 copies of this picture disc available meaning this is very much a collectors item. Each of them is individually numbered so highly collectable indeed. There were 9 separate coloured versions of the album available when originally released and this is an additional one. Some of the other coloured ones had less than 3,000. The printing technique looks fantastic and uses technology similar to Dark Side 50th Anniversary Edition picture disc which is released the day before on 19th April 2024. If you have an amazing looking record you don’t want it hidden...

Pink Floyd Saucerful of Secrets Vinyl 2022 Cover

Pink Floyd’s Saucerful of Secrets Mono LP Release for April 2022

Pink Floyd will release the remastered Mono LP of their second album Saucerful of Secrets on April 29th 2022. This follows the recent release of Piper at the Gates of Dawn mono LP, which was released earlier this month. The original mono mix of Pink Floyd’s A Saucerful Of Secrets, remastered by James Guthrie, Joel Plante & Bernie Grundman from the 1968 analogue tapes, is released on heavyweight 180g vinyl (following its limited Record Store Day 2019 outing). It’s the Floyd’s only album to feature all five band members after Syd Barrett was replaced by David Gilmour. Pre-Order from Amazon now I wonder what other LPs are in the works? In an age of all these digital downloads, it is nice to just switch off the mobile devices and just sit and listen to a nice vinyl. What a great event.

Piper At The Gates of Dawn Remastered Mono LP Out March 2022

Pink Floyd’s debut album Piper at the Gates of Dawn is to be released as a remastered 180g mono vinyl record on 4th March 2022. The remastered album was originally released for record store day back in 2018 (catalogue PFRLP26) in a limited supply of just 6,000, so in rather short supply. Now you can get hold of it as a regular release in glorious mono on LP (catalogue PFRLP38). The album was remastered back in 2017 from the original mono analogue tapes by James Guthrie, Joel Plante and Bernie Grundman and presented in mono form as originally intended. It was recorded at the now legendary Abbey Road Studios and is considered one of the quintessential psychedelic records of its era. It was originally released in August 1967. Vic Singh used George Harrison Prism Lens for Cover Shot Vic Singh, the photographer who created the original artwork, told NPF in...

David Gilmour Yes I Have Ghosts Vinyl RSD

David Gilmour Yes I Have Ghosts in Limited Vinyl Release

David and Romany Gilmour’s Yes I Have Ghosts single is to be released in a limited 5K batch of Vinyl as part of the next drop of Record Store Day releases. It is to be available as part of the “Black Friday” crazy which Amazon started about ten years ago in its pre-Christmas sales boost to help it compete with the high street. It is a RSD exclusive, limited to 5,000 copies, it is released by Legacy and is a 7″ single. “Yes, I Have Ghosts” is the first new song from David Gilmour in five years and features his daughter Romany on harp and vocals. The inspiration for the track was Polly Samson’s novel A Theatre for Dreamers, a Sunday Times bestseller about an idyllic poet/musician/artist community in 1960s Greece.  Check out the RSD website for further info or talk about it on the forum.

Record Store Day Event From 2019

Pink Floyd in Record Store Day Event 2020

Record Store Day is a way for artists to support independent record stores and Pink Floyd has been participating for some time as many of you will know. To celebrate Record Store Day 2020, Pink Floyd will release a live recording of the band’s first single, and Syd Barrett’s best-known song, Arnold Layne, via participating stores. Pink Floyd Records has supported Record Store Day since the label’s launch in June 2016, so this release is slightly different from the version that appeared in the recent The Later Years box set. The limited-edition, one-sided Record Store Day 7″ vinyl single boasts new artwork for the release featuring a person caught ‘red-handed’ in handcuffs. Pink Floyd Creative Director Aubrey Powell oversaw the sleeve, newly created by long-time Floyd collaborators, photographer Rupert Truman and designer Peter Curzon, both of StormStudios. New art extends to the B-side of the single, which features a new and exclusive etching...
