Piper At The Gates of Dawn Remastered Mono LP Out March 2022

Pink Floyd’s debut album Piper at the Gates of Dawn is to be released as a remastered 180g mono vinyl record on 4th March 2022. The remastered album was originally released for record store day back in 2018 (catalogue PFRLP26) in a limited supply of just 6,000, so in rather short supply. Now you can get hold of it as a regular release in glorious mono on LP (catalogue PFRLP38). The album was remastered back in 2017 from the original mono analogue tapes by James Guthrie, Joel Plante and Bernie Grundman and presented in mono form as originally intended. It was recorded at the now legendary Abbey Road Studios and is considered one of the quintessential psychedelic records of its era. It was originally released in August 1967. I was a successful young photographer and a member of the swinging sixties in-crowd, working in the fashion, advertising and music industries from my photo studio at 7, Burdon Place W.1. in the heart of London’s Mayfair. Having a wide circle of friends in the music business I first met The Pink Floyd in 1967 at an event in Piccadilly. They were a new unknown band and seemed pretty far out. We chatted for a while and then left. A short while later I got a call from their manager inquiring if I could do a photo shoot for their first album cover.
