Listen to New Roger Waters Song at Newport Folk Festival

Roger Waters performed at the Newport Folk Festival on Friday 24th July 2015 treating fans to several of his well known numbers as well as a brand new song! The new song is called “Crystal Clear” and features Roger performing piano on stage for the first time in his musical career! You can watch a video of the performance below – best be quick before it gets deleted off Youtube! Rogers’ all-acoustic performance had a range of songs from his career including some from his Pink Floyd days, some from his solo album days and he even threw in some covers for good measure! The set list went like this: Pink Floyd (“Mother”, “Wish You Were Here”, “Brain Damage”, “Eclipse”), solo material (“Amused to Death”, “The Bravery of Being Out of Range”), a new song called “Crystal Clear”, and covers of Bob Dylan’s “Forever Young”, Buddy Miller’s “Wide River to Cross”,...

Pink Floyd Tribute Bands – Your Favourite Video Clips

Pink Floyd Tribute Bands – Your Favourite Video Clips

There are plenty of Pink Floyd cover/tribute bands out there who have been inspired by the music of Pink Floyd to the point where they will play their music and re-create it for people in pubs, clubs and even arenas like the Australian Pink Floyd or Brit Floyd. Who are your favourite tribute bands? Any recommendations? I was sent an email from a chap in the tribute band called Gruhak! Have a listen to their version of Comfortably Numb below. I think you will agree it is a pretty decent version! Feel free to post a youtube video link of your favourite clips as a link by leaving a comment below! Other people can then watch your recommended clips. ;-)

Youtube and Pink Floyd Videos

Youtube and Pink Floyd Videos

There are certainly a LOT of Pink Floyd youtube videos out there which span from the very early years from the Undergound scene right up until present day.Of course, they are copyright infringements on the most part but it would be nice to have much more video content of the variety and quantity on youtube on the official Pink FLoyd website. Some good video I would definitely like to see on youtube or bettwe still the official Pink Floyd site, is The Wall live to co-incide with the 30th anniversary of The Wall. So… perhaps all the youtube Pink Floyd videos would be best placed on the official Pink Floyd website with lots more from the archives of Nick Mason, the official collector of all things Floyd in the band!  Check his book out Inside Out.  An excellent read (and listen if you have the audio book like me!!)
