Wolfpack wrote:Why no interest in a 'More' Immersion? I think that album is greatly underrated. And there's an interesting outtake titled 'Seabirds'.

'Cirrus Minor', 'Green Is the Colour', 'Cymbaline' and 'Ibiza Bar', combined with material reminiscent of 'Ummagumma'. I think it's one of the best Pink Floyd albums.
I think an Immersion set could be made that would feature all the soundtracks in one box, plus all the outtakes from each.
We may as well include "The Committee" here, as well as "(La Vallée) Obscured By Clouds", and, perhaps also "The Body" or at least the alternative version of "Give Birth To A Smile" featuring all of Pink Floyd.

I think after doing the 3 big albums, they should do one big massive release covering material from all the other albums :D

i voted for the 'piper' but,
so far these boxed sets have been expensive and seem to show that the floydian vaults contain little more than our own roio collections.

if there are to be any more please give us what we require (what we don't already have)
and less of what we don't (scarves, marbles etc.).

We don't have much of the first demo's. ('Lucy Leave') And there are unknown recordings of late 1967 and early 1968.
And some of the roio copies have an awful sound quality, like 'Beechwoods'.

Maybe Pink Floyd loves to see us beg and cry. Are we FINALLY going to get a Barrett Immersion? No, but we get loads of scarves and marbles. Let's call it Pink Floyd Humour. "The Pink Floyd Laughs". :)

Just a question: was any of the Animals tour concerts shot professionally?

Interestingly Amazon US has temporarily suspended sale of the Dark Side Immersion set, I went to buy it and currently they have this message posted:

Item Under Review
While this item is available from other marketplace sellers on this page, it is not currently offered by Amazon.com because customers have told us there may be something wrong with our inventory of the item, the way we are shipping it, or the way it's described here. (Thanks for the tip!)

We're working to fix the problem as quickly as possible.

Maybe it will finally be redesigned so the discs don't fall all over the place (?)

i voted for ASOS on the basis that this era encapsulates the last months of Barrett's residency and the 4 others trying to figure out what to do for the future (writing and releasing singles whithout being proper songwriters yet (except Barrett), experimenting and becoming wannabe studio-geeks, etc.)

my favourite album of theirs is Animals but i doubt there'd be enough to fill an Immersion box set from that period.

Really?

Live material of Animals and WYWH, plus Money and Us and Them
Demos of Dogs and Sheep from 1974
Demos of Dogs, Sheep and Pigs from 1976/77
There are tonnes of photos from 1977 tour
Probably photos from the studio when they were recording the album
Could make a 5.1 mix

I'd love a decent recording of that Oakland '77 bootleg that's been floating around for years 8) Great performance and the unexpected inclusion of Careful with that axe Eugene

The general consensus is no. Although rumours persist about an Italian or German TV crew recording a show (or some other country), but theoretically it would have appeared by now in bootleg form.

AMLOR and TDB could be issued as a "nice pair" immersion set... Outtakes, unreleased material, ambiental tracks, documentaries on Water-less Floyd, live footage...
