The Film soundtrack first vinyl issue.

Post by rael076 »

Has anyone come across a vinyl album called The Film on Celluloid Records? It was the first appearance of The Wall soundtrack audio in the early 80s. It had some unique edits and transitions I haven't heard elsewhere. My copy was stolen years ago.

There are a few copies on eBay right now. You can get one for about $85 USD.

This looks pretty interesting. It almost looks like the real deal. Of course, the real album would have been called 'The Final Cut' and would have been released by Columbia in the US, but that was scrapped. I'm certain this is a bootleg and that this is not a release from the real French/US label Celluloid Records. There is no mention of the album on the legitimate Celluloid (The Residents, Cabaret Voltair, Soft Cell, et al) website:

I hope this helps.

That's the one. I paid $30 for mine in the 80s brand new.
