Visiting London for some Floyd...need advice, please.

Post by SamFloyd »

Hello all!

First post here and thank you for this extremely helpful site!

My family and I are traveling to London from March 25 through April 4 and are looking for anything Floyd related to do. We do have both the Pink Floyd tour and the rock and roll tours scheduled through London Rock Tours. Bruce there said he will give us some ideas while on the tours to revisit later on our own time. But what we were hoping for is to not be on the typical tourist beaten path. We would like to shop the record stores where the locals shop, catch a local show, maybe Gilmour at the Royal Albert Hall, man do I wish!! Is Tin Pan Alley worth visiting? Is it possible to lay a flower on Rick Wright’s gravestone? The best way to sneak at peak at David’s Astoria from across the river? We read about local campfire gatherings where locals meet to sing and trade stories. Does that still happen?

We would entertain any ideas anyone would offer. Thank you very much in advance!!

Sincerely,
A 40 year Floyd fan, his wife, and his 13 year old son who is more of a fan than his dad
