PROJECT INTRODUCTION - EVERYONE CAN JOIN IN

Post by Keith Jordan »

The Pink Floyd History: 1943 to 2008 is an ongoing project to discuss each year of Pink Floyd and solo member's history.

Approximately one calendar month will be spent discussing each year of their history.

You can discuss anything about their history you like including concerts, albums, songs etc.

If you have any questions, please ask on this thread.

Rick died in 2008, so 1943-2008 is correct.
Yet, if we ever make there, we could also discuss releases after 2008.

We usually discuss one year for several months. I know waiting sucks, but some members make it here later.

1988 is a bit of a dud...how will the next phase work? A single year, or a few years?

I suspect even less happened in 1989 than 1988
what year was the Knebworth performance? 89 or 90?
then the Berlin Wall of course
and after that its going to be years and years of sparadic guest appearances and reissues

could we please seperate the old threads back into subdirectories by year?
there was lots of intersting discussions for the earlier years that should be easier to find than they currently are

I like J Ed's organizing principles...anyway, what comes after 1988? Well, I would suggest you may have to cover the period from 1989-1991. Then 1992 as a single year for Amused to Death and the Pancerrara thingy...

With the spaces between their albums increasing dramatically as the years went by, as well as their tours, it is indeed hard to find any continuity between those years. SO I really wouldn't know what to suggest we do about that without creating history that is not there.

Indeed. There wasn't much more about 80s.
