I put the first half on, to Eugene, whenever someone official is on the phone, just to see if they will say anything!
While the studio album lulls you into this kind of wierd dreamy cave of sorts (alas, i feel as if iam out in nature when i hear it) and there are some wonderfully super-real expressions in it, the live one's got Set the Controls and Eugne and SOS and they're such knockouts. Personally, especially when i first listened to them, i felt like i was in the wierd bits of 2001: a Space odyssey, which is totally cheesy, but still, the live album is SO spaced out, which is why its so great!
Altogether or separate, Ummagumma is undoubtedly fantastic!
