While they're both absolutely ravishingly GORGEOUS (at least the David Gilmour of the '70s), I don't see any resemblance between Brad Pitt and DG. I actually think Leonardo DiCaprio looks somewhat like the young DG.

Didnt we have a proper discussion thread once about which one we thought was better looking? Some sort of debate went on somewhere, of that i am sure. (We decided older Rog is nicer. duh)

Agree, actually Gilmour could have been cast as an old verison of Eomer on the LOTR trilogy, when he was young he pretty much look the same as the rohirrin rider.

Comparing Roger to Richard Gere is patently ridiculous. Roger has aged well, but he was pretty strange looking when he was younger. Gere is one of the most handsome guys in Hollywood.

Gilmour quipped at the start of the 87 tour that they wanted to get a blowup puppet of Roger to bring along but they couldn't find one ugly enough.

What are you talking about? old Roger could very well be the older brother of Gere, and when he was young he was not "strange looking" (except perhaps on the PATGoD days when he looked like a deranged nerd) he was just a little effeminate, no wonder I always think that Orange Floyd real face is her avatar.
