I used to love rap. I listen to everything. I like gansta rap sometimes but only when I am dancing. I like Snoop Dogg and Ludacris the best when I am dancing at a school dance.

I used to like ludacris but he's such a ridiculous sellout that I can't take him seriously...his lyrics have turned to s**t in my humble and possibly flawed opinion but I can't listen to him anymore, even in clubs.

Cypress Hill is okay although the instruments really aren't fit for their style, they kind of sold out in that way too...they tried to go for the rap/hardcore mixture and compared to their previous work it's not really that good. Skull and Bones was okay but I kinda thought it wasn't worth the purchase. Tho I may add that although I am from the United States I was in Prague at the time when it came out so I bought it there. To all you Praguers out there, your city rocks!

I have to agree with you. Rap/Hiphop isn't that bad. What you hear nowadays, I would hardly classify as hiphop... it has more to do with collecting ho's and hanging around the swimpool in you convertable...
But there really has been made some good stuff...

Redman & Wu-tang that you mention, MC solaar which is early mentioned in this thread... KRS One is pretty cool too.
And before i forget The Roots, which is a live band with rappers, they are really okay!!!

I listen to all of them now and then, when i'm in the mood.

What's Rap doing in a Pink Floyd Forum?

Please, IMHO RAP, Hip Hop, Girls/boys Bands and Top 40 POP are the same thing that can be described by a rour letter word very similar to RAP.

There's no musicality, imagination, inteligent lyrics, variations, it's no music IMO.

I think rap was much more interesting before all the rappers watched Scarface...before making an album became a way of promoting your particular street gang.

Back when it was Whodini and Run-DMC and Grandmaster Flash, Grandmaster Melle Mel, Fab Five Freddy...guys like that.
