I like the new version. It does take the original somewhere different.

What it drives home to me is that Rog is not Pink Floyd. This is Rog, and his cover has his own personality and style. It doesn't replace the original in any way, and I wonder about the claims that RW is trying to erase DG or diminish his importance.

But, whatever motivation is behind this track, the result is very good indeed. It makes me hopeful that RW's next solo album will have equally good production values. As I think it was the production and arrangements that let down a number of RW's solo albums. With ITTLWRW being the best in that respect.
