My krautrock favourites are Can.
Listening to Future Days alot recently. Great album but its drives my wife nuts. I'm not allowed to play Tago Mago in her presence at all!
I picked up the sacd version of ege bamyasi. Sounds brilliant on the home cinema!

my 2cents worth of info: Focus is not a German band... they are from Holland so they can't be Krautrock9flowing wrote:If it's industrial and experimental then you have to include Kraftwerk but if it's symphonic rock you cannot include Kraftwerk...equally but with qualifications reversed there's Focus
Nice band tho...

That's an awesome album, though I think overall I prefer Tanz der Lemmings. But it's close. I have the original gatefold LP's of both those, and the artwork on them is stunning, brilliant psychedelic stuff, something you really don't get from the smaller CD's.PublicImage wrote:My copy a Yeti by Amon Duul II finally arrived today. Great stuff.

Just listening now to a little Agitation Free, another great, but often overlooked Krautrock band. I have Malesch, which I love. It's dark, weird rock with some nice Middle Eastern flavour to it (long before it was hip to have a Middle Eastern feel in your music). Their second album is supposed to be great too, but I've only heard a few tracks off of that.

Got, agreed. Desperate to find 'Second' too...Massed Gadgets wrote:Just listening now to a little Agitation Free, another great, but often overlooked Krautrock band. I have Malesch, which I love. Would love to see them too, though honestly, I was not as crazy about their more recent albums (the one's since their "reappearance") than I was about their classic stuff. It was good to hear they still maintained the experimental nature of their music (rather than going for some lame attempt at commercialism), but I found albums like Ravvivando a little difficult to listen to. 2002's Patchwork was good, but it was mostly comprised of stuff taken out of the vaults and stitched together like The Faust Tapes.PublicImage wrote:Yeah, and tickets are only a tenner. I think I'll have to go and see them.JKealy wrote:A little birdie tells me Faust have a UK tour coming soon, 30 years since the band was last active...
