I tried it with the DSOTM pyramid and it didn't reduce well at all. This one holds up.

If they don't get it, maybe it'll just inspire them to look further into Floyd to figure it out. Gotta admit...I didn't get the "blade" one, and then it hit me. And my favorite song on DSOTM for that matter. How embarrassing.

Note: The first three names were stolen from another PF site LOL
Yeah, I thought I recognized those from somewhere else!
I've also seen categories like sheep, dog and pig at another site too, but I strongly suggest being original with these. That's why I like quicksilver's because I haven't seen those before.

The only thing about awarding "merit" based on posts is that it encourages people to post messages that are blank or only one word in length just for the sake of getting a higher post count.
Really, I don't think it's a bad idea...it's like anything else...looks great on paper, but the human element mucks it up.

Good point. I think we can all think of places where that happens...
Nonetheless, I thought of alternative rank names:
0 Embryo
25 Childhood's End
100 Young Lust
250 Mother
500 The Fletcher Memorial Home
1000 The Great Gig in the Sky

No offence Tommy (i consider this purely a compliment) but you've got quite a consciounce, very apologetic i must say. Any particular reason for this? I knew you were joking anyway and unlike i would have done you apologised again afterwards. Well done.
not really, i just apologize too much, always have. i always figured its beter to apologize too much than to not at all, and it has served me pretty well so far. thanks for the compliments david, most people dont appreciate it, which is fine with me, but good to see someone who does
