NPF reported yesterday that Roger Waters and Nick Mason were to perform at the Winkfield pub in Berkshire this coming Saturday 23rd February. I have since been told by Pink Floyd and Roger Waters management that this is NOT true.
The story on NPF came about after BBC Berkshire announced it on their website. Apologies if this has caused any inconvenience to anyone. Blame the BBC!!!
It was too good to be true thought wasn't it?

Re: Roger Waters and Nick Mason NOT playing Berkshire Pub
I figured it was bs as soon as I heard it.
I mean...WHY would Roger Waters be playing a pub anywhere?
That would be tantamount to Mick Jagger performing at a karaoke night.

Well to Mick's defense.. The Rolling Stones did play a few pubs around Los Angeles, CA before their last tour under a pseudo name to prepare for their tour. One place in L.A held only 30 people.. imagine seeing that

That could have been the start of something really sweet. I kind of like those little rumors;they get the noustrils flaring. Not that I'm a fan of incorrect rumors.

Well don't you think that this would be the expected response frm management/the pub once the world got the story? As the landlord says, he's mates with NM & they play polo together (presumably at Grest Windsor Park which is where the pub is in the middle of). Roger seems much more happier now (as evidenced by hs last tour) & i wuldn't put it past him to do such a gig.
I'd still have money on Nick being there tomorrow night, shame i've got th mother-in-law staying with me & having to take her out to dinner!
Cheers

The BBC have admitted the story was wrong....

No apology for their poor journalism. It is part of their code not to rely on one source for news apparently. You would have though they would have confirmed it with the artists management the news being so significant??? Mmmm.
The BBC have gone downhill!

That really blows. I guess the lines between tabloid and real journalism are just about gone.

It was all a "misunderstanding".
Because anything and everything that isn't "Roger Waters and Nick Mason performing" sounds exactly like "Roger Waters and Nick Mason performing" amirite?

Yeah, you are right. Fans are so eager to see something like this happen that they not only lose touch with reality but hear things the way they want them to be, not the way they really are.
It's the power of the human mind. If you believe that Elvis is alive and well, eating lunch every day at a Wendy's in Kalamazoo, Michigan, you will see him there sooner or later. Either that or you will believe a rumor that he was spotted there, regardless of how much it is actually based on fact.

No, he lives around here, He has a personal shopper that goes by the local grocery store and buys a bunch of bananas and a jar of peanut butter almost every day. Today I'm going to follow the shopper and go have a chat with Elvis.bpmolder wrote:Yeah, you are right.
