I think I'll hold off on this and pick one up off eBay in the future. I like the album but not that much. It's a bit pricey for moi, I'm afraid.

The album as a whole is one of my least favourite Floyd ones (apart from soycd of course) so I won't be getting this, but then I might be tempted into buying the Experience one.

Really!!!
Think it adds a bit more value to the item.
I mean we are basically buying half a dozen versions of exactly the same thing. For example thers a low res 5.1, a Hi res 5.1, a blue ray 5.1 and a quad version. Quite frankly we all must have more money than sense to buy these sets. Although I fully intend to get this one. At least the scarf will be a piece of clothing to use in the winter.

Judging by my tDSotM scarf, which is useless for winter (at least in Canada), the WYWH scarf should be just as useless as an article of clothing. :D

Got mine pre-ordered and will be picking it up tomorrow. Can't wait!

The Wembley material is going to be off the charts, the iTunes samples alone blew my socks off.

This are the contents of the WYWH Immersion Boxset:
1) Wish You Were Here - Original stereo mix
--Remastered by James Guthrie 2011
--In LPCM.
--Mastered in high resolution audio at 96 kHz/24-bit

2) Wish You Were Here - James Guthrie 2009 5.1 Surround Mix
--In standard resolution audio at 448 kbps
--In high resolution audio at 640 kbps
--In high resolution audio at 96 kHz/24-bit

3) Wish You Were Here - Original 1975 Quadraphonic Mix
--In standard resolution audio at 448 kbps
--In high resolution audio at 640 kbps

4) Video:
--Concert Screen Films:
Shine On You Crazy Diamond Intro
Shine On You Crazy Diamond
--Welcome To The Machine animated clip
--Storm Thorgerson short film

5) Disc of outtakes and live versions:
--Shine On You Crazy Diamond (parts 1-6) live at Wembley November 1974 (2011 mix and previously unreleased)
--Raving & Drooling live at Wembley November 1974 (2011 mix and previously unreleased)
--You’ve Got To Be Crazy live at Wembley November 1974 (2011 mix and previously unreleased)
--Wine Glasses from the unreleased ‘Household Objects’ project
--Have A Cigar alternative version (previously unreleased)
--Wish You Were Here featuring Stephane Grappelli (previously unreleased)
So basically is just:

- 3 different mixes of the album (stereo, quad and 5.1 in various redundant resolutions)
- plus 3 concert screen films and a short film (¿!?) in SD and HD.
- and and disc of rarities.

Oh yeah, and a bunch of useless non eco-friendly thrash in the form of scarfs, marbles, coasters, etc... for a grand price of $140? Nah thanks, I think I will settle with just the Experience version. Not even that, I would be happy with just the second disc of the Experience, but they won't give me that option.

Don't get me wrong, I would loove to have the rarities disc, videos and a 5.1 and quad mix of the album, but I'm not paying $140 for that.

I would happily pay:

-$12 for the rarities disc.
-$20 for either a DVD or Blu-ray with the videos, I definitely don't need both.
-$20 for either a DVD or Blu-ray with the LPCM, 5.1 and quad mixes.

For a grand total of 52 bucks, 62 if we include an extra CD with the remastered WYWH (yes, for buyers of this kind of boxsets the CD with the regular album IS the extra disc, sometimes penalty disc, not the main thing).

Are the Shine On films on YouTube? I've seen Welcome To The Machine a million times but am not sure what the SOYCD films are, do parts include the man/leaf that floats around during The Trial in The Wall?

The quad mix alone is worth it.
