I love Roger singing mother's part in "Mother" But the bass line there is really funky :D !
Some of lyrics are really ridiculous and childish, but I like them - they're so sincere...

CN Demos

Post by sigma six »

I listened to both the demos once so far, and they're not as bad as I imagined. I don't think either are all that rough, except of course Gilmour's little humm and guitar thing he did. What I am trying to say is, the PF was not at a loss for talent, I mean all the musicality of it all was great. But being as all of us are perfectionists, we like it...well, perfect.

I've never been able to bring up the demos on Neptune's CN page. Are we
doing something wrong?

My current web host enjoys deleting files off the server they deem too big. I am in the process of transfering this site to the dedicated server i bought so i can have all the files i like then! 8)

I listened to the demos of comfortably numb, I like the first one.
The singing of David is magically on. I enjoy the constant guitar rhytms and chord changes, reminds me of the way syd played on an acoustic. The beauty of playing similar, syd and david is very related. Fascinating is the creation of this song in this rawist form, I love the pure nature of it.
I have an acoustic song that starts in a minor to c to g with sus, and the vocals I've ben told resemble syd barret, of course not the voice, just the style. Syd has a wonderful voice, as does David. Thanks for having these demos here whoever did, we are really blessed to have this to hear some of how this song grew and evolved. Nothing was overlooked in this song, from the feel to the lyrics, the rewrites, the blending of instruments and effects. So captivating and compact. Never boring !! Wow, I always loved Pink Floyd music, I also wrote a song inspired of the wall, a fingerstyle picking from dm to am to f to am with sus, then c fingerolls to some other chord 3 frets up same as c then down to Am. Then another thing on keyboard like One of these days, like an intro on keys, well I did not steal any parts I just took the ideas and made them different yet similar, I got the feel from pink floyd. So I am inspired to get better so I can maybe fin a band that wants to play like pink floyd, hard to do for me, but oh well. Down here it is all metal, and hard noise. Just downtuned crap, but I jam with people due to the lack of the right musicians. Oh yeah, and I am freaked out like Syd sometimes, I mean I get anxiety like him, but I think the music is good for people sick, to escape, leave the distortion of life behind. But I am not gifted like Syd or anyone else, I know gifted when I see or hear it, and I'm not. I just like to hear it you know, and this demo it shines through the raw gifted David Gilmore, its amazing how much musical magic they've made.

(when your neighbors called me on the phone); the cadence and delivery is allegedly imitating Bob Dylan poking fun at the band's
own rock n'roll infamy and largesse.

Is anybody bleeding? Is there anyone at home?
Come on, I know you're hiding,
I could hear you screaming (Scream)
(Cant hear the next part), Called me on the phone
Listen, I am a physician
and I can handle your condition
Like a magician, if you show me where it hurts

There is no pain you are receding, A distant ships smoke on the horizon
You are only coming through in waves,
your lips move but I cant hear what you're saying
When I was a child I had a fever
My hands felt just like two balloons
Now i've got that feeling once again
I cant explain, you would not understand this is not how I am
I have become comfortably numb

I have become comfortably numb (End of solo)

Wake up now, pull yourself togeather
Get out and meet new people (Scream)
I'm sure they'll understand
Come on, put away the shotgun,
Have another blue one(Scream)
Have your fingertips gone numb?

Goodbye, try and see the brightside
Listen to some pop groups (laughing)
read the news, go out and see some shows
SOLO2

There it is from what I can hear...please excuse spelling mistakes and lyric errors.

But these lyrics are a lot different form the Finished product... if anyone wants the song then they can get Ask me for my msn name and ill send it to them in MP3 format.
