I think an MTV unplugged session with Roger, David, Nick, Rick and... ROGER KEITH BARRET would be spectacular and I think we should write a letter collectively to EMKA Productions Ltd., Mark Fenwick and MTV Europe to get it sorted out.

I think the "unplugged" idea would only be cool if it were held in an abandoned amphitheater in...say...Pompeii.

And I think they should plug in...and let a film crew document it.

Imagine a sequel to Live At Pompeii.

Now THAT could rock.

If I remember correctly, Cincinati is just across the Ohio river from Louisville, Ky. That's about four to six hours away.

I think it's a bit closer than Chi-town. We may get to meet in person yet.

Pink Floyd, authenticity, arguing

Post by GalileoProximo »

(First post to this forum)

In reading various people's posts on whether Pink Floyd is legitimate or not without Roger Waters, it is clear to me why Waters doesn't talk about it much any more. It is a subject that has been beaten to death, and people, including the continuing PF group, obviously have their own opinions on it. There has been enough argument on the subject between people who have a legitimate right to be concerned (as in, the musicians themselves), and it is pretty much done for. Pink Floyd exists, perhaps to the irritation of Roger Waters. But, on the other hand, how many fans out there sincerely aren't aware of the fact that he was the mind behind most of what they did that any but the most rabid fans are aware of? So, while the band didn't dissolve in the way he may have wanted, it certainly hasn't carried on without him in the same fashion either. Nobody is declaring A Momentary Lapse to be on a par with any of the five albums preceding it.

Just a novice's opinion I guess.

A reunion of good musicians may not look good but it could sound good. Though it's very unlikely. Other than that, RPITI has a right to have a say on his opinion. Infact we all do.
