I found this on a message board that a user had posted up:
"Sunday I got to go the Pasadena Swap Meet...and the music area was
massive as usual. Lots of vinyl, video, dvd, and of course cd's, and
cd's o'plenty. I picked up a variety of nuggies, and one of them was
a piace called "Building The Wall". A "Roaring Mouse Production"...a
Promo.
"In 1978, roger Waters began writing what was to become one of the
Pink Floyd masterpieces. These home recordings, on which Waters
plays bass, Guitar, Drum Machine, and sings, share his original
arrangements which later became "The Wall".
This was phenominal as we we're gunning it North out of LA.
Interesting versions without massive guitar solos, and some without
lyrics...some of the drum machine stuff is really cool, and he must
distort some vocals as it sounds like a few voices, but its not.
Without a doubt, The Wall in particular was MOSTLY Roger's stuff, but
also without a doubt, it wouldn't have been the same without Dave's
pieces. "
Are these home recordings real? Are they the demos? Because I've always heard the demos aren't real...
Is this for real?

I have Gilmours demo for Comfortably Numb and it is a lot more beautiful, better recorded and better produced than the demo on the wall under construction demo tapes. Every day I think more and more that those demos are largely created by fans and perhaps one or two are real.Real Pink in the Inside wrote:The Wall demos have not been officially released, and Roger has not made any comments on the validity of the demos that you can find in stores and on the net. As such, it is rather foolish to simply assume the wall demos found on the net are the real deal.
The CN demo I have will be online for the RoIO of the month in about in a week so make sure you are subscribed to newsletter. Username and password will be changing also.

Who knows? I think that one is a good one but I am not totally convinced of them all. This other CN demos is definitely 100% legitimate and you will see that to be the case when you listen to the radio programme I will share at the weekend - if you havent heard it already.Spinoza wrote:The CN-demo called the "doctor" sounds very real to me, it's clearly Rogers voice. I don't understand all that talk about "fake" demo-tracks. They sound quit Pink Floyd to me

I saw them at the royal albert hall and I thought they sucked. They're like Pink Floyd as they are now (a bunch of fat old gits) and their setlist was full of ghastly Division Bell numbers. They didn't have 'rolls' either. (eg. there was no Dave, Roger, Nick and Rick - they were just a bunch of guys). The best tribute band I've seen are 'Pink Fraud'. They're not a 'big name' tribute band but they are superb. They only play stuff written between 1969 and 1979, they look the part (the Floyd image from the Pompeii video), and they sound awesome. They play semi-obscure stuff too.Feeling Very Pink wrote:THE AUSTRALIAN PINK FLOYD SHOW IS THE BEST PF TRIBUTE IN THE WORLD EVER.
Tribute bands really arn't my kind of thing but these guys are really something special. check em' out at http://www.pinkfraud.co.uk/

Well, I tend to agree there. I mean, 'High Hopes' or 'Sheep'?decampos wrote:Their setlist was full of ghastly Division Bell numbers.
Who cares? So long as it sounds good. Unless you mean musically, eg, them doing 'Echoes' as an eight-piece(!) as opposed to the rock 'n' roll foursome in Pompeii or something...decampos wrote:They didn't have 'rolls' either.
