Must be why Dave thinks so highly of them

I mean, they're probably the only PF tribute band that plays numbers from DB...

I care. They're a tribute band. I want the whole god damned Pink Floyd experience. And I didn't think they sounded all that great.

You'd be surprised! I've seen Think Floyd - cue 'High Hopes' etc - and Masque - ditto. :?

I mean, I like The Divison Bell but I'd rather hear something from Animals. :)

They played 'lerning to fly' and 'one slip' as well. [there should be an emoticon for gesturing vomiting]

I have Building The Wall from Roaring Mouse records.

It's the same thing as Under Construction.

They are not Roger's home demos. The drums are not a drum machine (I don't care how much money you had, in 1978, a drum machine DID NOT sound like real drums. The drums on these demos sound real,) and Roger is not playing everything. Gilmour is involved. Whether Rick is or not, I don't know.

I take it that somewhere between Roger's home demos and the finished project, the boys and Bob went into a studio to do some pre-production that included laying down quick unpolished versions of the songs just to get some idea of running order and how the songs are going to blend together.

That's what I think these demos are. They are of the work IN PROGRESS.

Yes, I believe them to be the real deal.

Although Keith is right...I'd rather hear Gilmour's original CN demo...it IS much prettier to listen to.

Building The Wall

Post by pinktim »

Building The Wall by Roaring Mouse Productions is a bootleg that is available through many record stores. I got the set several years ago. It is basically a bootleg or as is the current vernacular a weed that is claimed to be one set of the actual demos Roger made to develop the album. Listening to it gives one a whole new perspective on what the ablum could have sounded like. As for authenticity as previously stated there is no way to verify if it is or is not the real thing.

Supposedly the Wall Demos were to come out a few years ago. But, that project went by the wayside. Maybe some day they will be released.

Well, I suppose they are a tribute band of sorts but I'm talking about an actual tribute band called 'pink fraud' (http://www.pinkfraud.co.uk) who incidentally I saw again on Saturday night playing at the Cambridge Boat Race. They played the whole of Animals, the whole of Darkside and a few other bits and bobs including 'Point me at the sky'. It was totally unexpected and really cool.

The have a brilliant sax player which is more then I can say for the Australian Pink Floyd. When I saw those losers they did the sax solo for 'Shine on' on a goddam synth!
