i was at a track meet saturday, and this girl had a burned CD that had "rap mix" on it, so i decided to give it a try to see how bad it was. it was beyond, i mean, completely beyond awful. i gained no pleasure from listening to it, and there was no talent whatsoever involved in it. i mean, i give some rappers credit, like Eminem, he gets some credit because he rhymes well and some of his lyrics are ok. but this was just plain awful, i am now a worse person for having listened to it

Rap is not crap......yet it is

When rap first started getting big, back in the days of Snoop and Dre getting big, those are the days I think rap was at its best. People could sound cool, beats were cool to listen to...and the thing was that back then rap had meaning.
Now look at it. "Bling Bling" has taken over rap. Everyone talked about bitches, hoes, weed, ice, krystal, and all that other garbage. Everyone does it...nobody's original anymore. And I find it disgusting. Rap has lost its soul. Now it's garbage. Back in the day it was great (to me)...nowadays it's really, really hard for me to like rap.

Yup yup, I've always said rap is a competition to see who can fit the most cuss-words into a five-word sentence. I swear, therefore I'm cool.

NWA is pretty funny, and it was apparently very original for the time. some of my friends used to love it in 8th grade, and i felt so white listening to it in 8th grade being an innocent little kid at a catholic school. but i did actually enjoy some of it, but even dre has gone way downhill since then

I can't say I've liked rap, in any form, or at any time.

I'd try and come up with a list for you of bands and songs that i've hated over the years, or have gotten on my nerves, but I've spent so much tiome trying to FORGET them, trying to wipe them from my memory, that I don't now want to find them again.

I wish that people wouldn't generalize and say "all rap is terrible". Come on....have you ever heard Public Enemy? They're not half bad. And please don't respond with "Nope...they're ALL bad!"

Anyway...there's this dude named David Wilcox. I looked him up just now and it turns out that he is Canadian. What a bummer. I strongly dislike any songs by him that I've heard. My husband thinks he's awesome and hilarious. Oh, Lord.

check him out; he does a bit of narrative before the songs start:
