A show with a concept???

Post by The Ballad Of Pink Floyd »

Good morning(to me), about the NPF shows, I like them, but they are like a festival, and they should be with a concept, a theme, like the wall for example, it had a conept, build the wall, then rooms in the wall, and all that(I am shore you have seen the 1980 and 1990 versions so I don't need to go any further) or other concept gigs, should we do that with NPF shows???

After venue fees, performance rights, bands and promo have been sorted, there would not be enough left to buy more than a sausage!

I think it is a little too ambitous to be honest. Stu put the NPF shows on so he knows all about it. But I doubt it would be feasible to rent loads of lasers and build walls and things. I think you need to rent an arena and sell it out to put those kind of shows on.

You up for an arena gig, Stu??

I didn't say I want to build a wall.

But a small arena with 3.000-5.000 people you can do that can't you?

I was thinking something with small props, and projections and light effects, I want something ambitious, and there's no place better to start then NPF tribute show.

Let's be realistic...as I understand, the first show was kind of held at a local pub in Brighton. I could be wrong there.

The last Brighton show was held in a place which holds about 500 people, correct?

I think expecting the next one to manage to fill an arena is unrealistic.

Also, while the idea of a concept show is not a bad one, it's just a lot of time, hassle and cost that the people who VOLUNTEER to work on these things simply don't have.

Now...if someone happens to win the lottery, you could ask them about putting up the cash :D

Ok, then if you don't have a budget or sponsorship.

I would have been nice thought.

Unfortunately there isnt a budget, the shows are something we do off our own backs, basically the venue gets lined up, everyone chips in what gear they have to make it work and then we hope we make enough money on the door to cover our expenses, however, if any rich benefactors are lurking the forum please do feel free to get in contact ;)
