Hi folks,
I'm new to this forum, popped in to let you know about this event...
The Wall 2009
November 30th , 1979 is a date remembered by all diehard fans of British Pink Floyd. Their probably the most popular album The Wall was released. Regrettably, because of the demanding preparations and the intricate presentation (a cardboard wall being built during the performance) the live concert was only performed in four cities (London, Los Angeles, New York, Dortmund). Even though a film was finally produced, there is no filmed record of the concert.
30 years later Filip Benešovský has come up with this spectacular idea for production. It will take place in the O2 Arena in Prague on October 31st , 2009. The Wall 2009 is supposed to be the most ambitious and demanding project appearing on the musical scene this year.
The band numbers approximately 20 musicians, including modern electric instruments as well as strings and brasses. Another indispensible part of the show is the children’s choir.
Among those who have been invited to perform in this monumental musical production dealing with the matter of human ugliness are these special guests: Michal Malátný (Chinaski), Jan Neckář (Bacily), Zdeněk Kluka and Roman Dragoun (Progres 2) or Radim Hladík, Czech rock guitar star.
The performance is provided with quadrophonic sound rotating round the concert hall, giant breeze-blocks, many stage properties, film shots, Czech titles and numerous dramatic scenes. Simply stated it will be really a unique and unrepeatable audiovisual experience which will take several months in preparation.

Well, nothing against Aussie Floyds - of course not, but as for me I would prefer Czech show If I want to see complete Wall with bricks on the stage and everything else. In this case would be the journey worthy thing for me. I have got some friends in Canada who are probably coming in October across the ocean to see this Wall. More shows to see is always better...Pinkerton wrote:Why not go and see the Aussie Floyd do the Wall? There the dogs!!!
