Gilmour Concert on BBC1 - 8th Sep 2007

The BBC will be broadcasting a 60 minute version of David Gilmour's forthcoming DVD Remember That Night. It will be broadcast on BBC1 in the UK on Saturday 8th September between 11:00 pm and 12:00 am.

The concert was recorded last year at London's Royal Albert Hall. Gilmour is joined on stage by Pink Floyd keyboardist Richard Wright, Pink Floyd's Dick Parry on sax, Phil Manzanera from Roxy Music, Pink Floyd contributors Guy Pratt and Jon Carin, drummer Steve DiStanislao and Robert Wyatt. Special guests are David Crosby and Graham Nash, as well as David Bowie.

So... staying on topic, will anybody be watching this or are you just going to be waiting to get hold of the full DVD? This is a 60 minute edit of the DVD so may spoil the DVD I think if you are getting that!

I dont think i have bbc on my list of satelite tv's. Otherwise i would do it.
But i will def. wait for the official dvd and watch it in a dark room on a lcd projector and a high-end bro's stereo system.

I'll definitely watch it - might even record it for posterity but I'm still going to buy the DVD because of all the extra stuff on it. I hope the TV broadcast isn't going to have too much of his OAI stuff or it'll have the masses falling asleep on their sofas.

Did anyone watch this? It looked pretty good -not too many Delicate Sound of Thunder moments either. As you'd have guessed by now, there weren't any moments of David going apeshit and running around the stage, screaming into the microphone or smashing and burning his guitars on stage. It's all very tastefully done really. As it happens, the BBC broadcast the proms from the Royal Albert Hall shortly beforehand so it was fun to compare and contrast. The TV broadcast didn't go too heavily into the On An Island stuff though it did have The Blue, which is one of the most boring songs David has ever recorded. I can't remember the exact running order off the top of my head but I do remember This Heaven, Shine On You Crazy Diamond, The Blue, Smile, Fat Old Sun, Coming Back To Life, Arnold Layne, Find The Cost of Freedom and Wish You Were Here.

I watched it. Awfully glad I went to the first RAH show instead of revising for my human evolution final. The Floyd stuff was storming!

You didn't miss much Nick. OAI was the usual snorefest and the rest was OK but not really memorable. I could have done without WYWH and the novelty value of Bowies Arnold Layne has worn a bit thin but Fat Old Sun wasn't bad.
