simile . . . sorryThe Great Pig In The Sky wrote:well, eyes like black holes in the sky is a metaphor....or maybe not?
"We roll and roll
We roll and roll
Help me roll away the stone"
"So have a good drown, as you go down alone
Dragged down by the stone."
Rog has always been burdened by the weight of life and his purpose in the world. But that struggle is one of the main forces that moulded him into a great artist.
No. This is a comparison due to the word "like".The Great Pig In The Sky wrote:well, eyes like black holes in the sky is a metaphor....or maybe not?
Had it been a metaphor, it would be "His eyes are/were black holes in the sky", but that wouldn't really make sense. I even had to alter the lyric so I could make it make sense.
I really have no life.

Don't know why, but love this:
Little by little the night turns around.
Counting the leaves which tremble and turn.
Lotus's lean on each other in union.
Over the hills where a swallow is resting.
Set the controls for the heart of the sun.
Over the mountain watching the watcher.
Breaking the darkness waking the grapevine.
Morning to birth is born into shadow
Love is the shadow that ripens the wine.
Set the controls for the heart of the sun.
The heart of the sun, the heart of the sun.
Who is the man who arrives at the wall?
Making the shape of his questions at asking.
Thinking the sun will fall in the evening.
Will he remember the lesson of giving?
Set the controls for the heart of the sun.
The heart of the sun, the heart of the sun.
Metaphor or not? A linguistic question, but I like it anyway
