Roger's Gig in DVD

Post by matboss »

Hi Guys.
I've downloaded the fantastic gig of Roger at Cork but I don't know exactly how to burn it on a DVD.
I have a MAC and I'm trying to burn the gig on a DVD so that I can watch it in my TV. I've copied all the files and folders, as they were in the original directory, into the DVD directory and then I hit BURN and it has actually burned it but when I put the DVD into the DVD player nothig happens...
How can I burn the DVD correctly?

Thanks

:D

Copy the VIDEO_TS folder directly to the DVD. Insert the DVD into your favorite DVD player. Find the remote. Hit <play>.

Assuming you have a DVD burner;

1. Get a program like DVD Imager and have it make a .img (or .iso?) of the VIDEO_TS files.

2. Open "Disk Utility" (Applications/Utilities)

3. Drag the .img file into that list on the side

4. Highlight and hit "BURN"

5. Wait (I reccomend a slow speed)

6. Enjoy

that dvd is PAL, if you live in america like i do then it wont play on your dvd player because we use NTSC. There are some cheap dvd players that play PAL dvd's , u can get em in wal mart or costco which is what I did.

Thanks guys. Thank Mooners too for your instruction: actually I'm not so dumb. :-)
As a matter of fact, I've burned the DVD by copying it on a DVD but nothing happens when I insert it into my DVD player. It works on my Mac instead. PAL or NTSC makes no difference because it can read both.
Well, I'll watch the gig on my computer and I'll plug it to the stereo.
Thanks anyway.

A DVD-video is a lot like a standard DVD (i.e. data DVD), but not quite. If you want to burn a video-DVD what you should do is:

1. Buy a cheap PC.
2. Install operating system, or run operating system fom a "live CD" (http://www.knoppix.org).
3. Run a program like Nero Burning Rom or K3B, choose 'burn Video-DVD' and THEN, only THEN choose to copy the video_ts folder to the DVD.

Good luck. :)

matboss. Ensure that the only thing copied to the disk is the VIDEO_TS folder. In that folder, make sure that it contains only .BUP, .IFO, and .VOB files. Occassionally you'll find .md5 files or .jpg's stuffed in there too. Make sure you remove them first.

Lotsaluck eh.

It is such a good DVD, one of the best I've ever seen. Enjoy it...
