Yes I also think the box set is WAY too expensive, (nice though it looks) I have the DVD & the vinyl pre ordered. Having seen the show twice (indoors & outdoors) bought the T shirt (s) etc etc I think the pricing is out of a lot of peoples pockets. Even half that price would make it more accessible, (though still expensive) ! I'm sure it would sell more and how can "each box be different"?? Do you get your name put on it or what?? I'll ask Noel Edmonds when he wins the lottery to buy me one !

I'll settle for just the CD and the Deluxe Edition DVD sold separate, thanks! <.8.> (But still a sale)

Obscene price. Even if I had that sort of disposable income I'm not sure I could justify spending it on music.

Then don't buy it people it doesn't get any simpler than that. If some people are too stupid to pay that kind of money for a ''box'' too bad for them, unless they are incredibly rich off course.

I agree with that. However, some people travel to special events (I am guilty) and some buy special edition books and music to enjoy the overall package and will spend their money on such items as one off's rather than satellite TV, cigarettes or drink ... each to their own. I know where my money will go.

So I guess this one isn't dedicated to all those who find themselves at the violent end of monetarism, right?

It's always different when you find that you yourself have something worth selling...of course, Roger has had something worth selling for decades, so...

There are people who want to buy music and for several reasons. When they want a specific item but can not afford it it's saddening. I really don't understand such pricings - I doubt the face value is even half of those 500 bucks. If Roger wanted to raise money I'm sure he's find better opportunities.
I'll say, let's wait till someone up there finds a brain and a heart to cut the price.

The only way I could ever justify spending that kind of money on any release is if there was true investment potential.

It's also not really in keeping with Rogers socialist views is it ?

Roger Waters The Wall - Super Deluxe Edition

Written by Matt
Thursday, 22 October 2015

Roger Waters The Wall - Super Deluxe Edition. Announced late yesterday (to a very vocal reaction) was the Super Deluxe Edition of Roger Waters The Wall, which we know a number of you have been holding back on ordering the regular editions, to see what this special edition consists of, and costs, to see if this set would be your preferred purchase.

Without further ado, here are the details of the contents, which are housed in a custom package with hand-applied graphics, and is a limited edition:
•4 discs of 180 gram audiophile vinyl in red, white, clear and black, with a unique engraving
•Only available in this package, the brand new score by Roger Waters, and the full live soundtrack
•170 page full colour hard cover book showcasing live and behind the scenes images from the 2010-2013 tour and the film
•2 CDs containing the full live soundtrack
•3 Blu-ray discs containing the full feature length film and bonus features: The Simple Facts - A Conversation with Nick Mason and Roger Waters / A new documentary about the making of the tour / Buenos Aires Time Lapse / Athens Time Lapse / A Visit to Frank Thompson / Facebook Films (36 mini episodes) / Comfortably Numb Live at The O2 with special appearance by David Gilmour / Outside The Wall Live at The O2 with special appearance by David Gilmour and Nick Mason
•Download code for digital versions of all music included in the package

Once ordered, customers will receive a hard cover "Save the Date" folio that contains two art prints, which will be shipped in November. The boxes themselves will ship in "early 2016", and they note that the artwork is subject to change. To answer a few similar questions we've had, the box set will ONLY be available from RogerWaters.com/SDE.

Since the announcement, Facebook (in particular, Roger's own Facebook page) has been full of fans' reactions to the set - as has our inbox, which has had a pummelling on the subject. The box set has been fixed at a price of $500 plus shipping and tax (and for many, the package will be subject to import duty and handling fees from their local postal delivery agents) which for some will increase the overall amount by around $200 or so.

We are hoping that some of the exclusive elements within the set (the tour documentary, the Q&A between Nick and Roger, and the book) get a separate release in time, and will suggest this to Roger's team for consideration; in the meantime, we suspect that many people will now push ahead with their pre-orders for the already announced standard editions. Orders for these can be placed through these direct links:

SPECIAL EDITION 2 BLU-RAY BOXSET: Amazon.com Amazon UK Canada Germany
BLU-RAY (SINGLE DISC): Amazon UK Canada Amazon France Amazon Italy
DVD (SINGLE DISC): Amazon.com Amazon UK Canada Amazon Germany Amazon France Amazon Italy Amazon Spain

For the audio side of things, below are the links to the physical product. If you prefer things digital, pre-orders can now be placed via this iTunes direct link.

TRIPLE (3LP) VINYL EDITION: Amazon.com Amazon UK Canada Germany France Italy Spain
DOUBLE CD EDITION: Amazon.com Amazon UK Canada Germany France Italy Spain

I was hoping Roger would get a number 1 album, but Adele is also bringing out her album tomorrow and she's massive seller.
Anybody got this and the soundtrack early?

Do your charts count studio and live albums together?

I'm not buying Adele, her lead track makes me think of Lionel Richie. Onto more relevant stuff, received 'The Wall' Blu-ray a few days ago and the sound is incredible. The OST has been shipped, but not received, amazon tell me it should arrive tomorrow (20 Nov)

Listening to the live album now on Google Play Music.

Sounds good

EDIT: The Thin Ice felt like it was so slow near the end. Slowed down for old man Roger?

Pretty sure I've seen live albums and even soundtracks in the album charts, but I haven't seen anything about the album or the DVD in the newspaper review. Adele's in there of course!
And we'll know just how successful Roger Waters was late next Friday evening! (And I asked it for a present so can't combine to his first week's! It's all down to you lot in the UK now!)
