Things We Loved About "Roger Waters The Wall" (1 Post A Day)

Post by Jimi Dean Barrett »

Rather than a thread that falls into complaints (And not without merit) about not including anything from the 1980's filmed Pink Floyd shows (But in a way, the film sort of does), let's have a positive thread about moments in the film we loved.
Post one a day NPF Team Building Exercise and number them.
I'm relying on my memory from seeing it on the screen, but I really loved

1. The shots of the audience singing along. The love and thrill they feel is the same as the screaming devotion The Beatles got. (And even carried on to Pop groups like "Take That" and even "One Direction".
You'd have to be made of the coldest stone not to get a lump in the throat over the wonky toothed eyes closed reciting along during "Comfortably Numb"!

The part where Roger and his kids visit his grandfather's grave. Very moving.

3. Roger having much too much to drink and talking to a barman who doesn't speak English.

I also like that scene ... when I watched the Blu-ray at home, I paused the film, went to the kitchen, poured a glass of Tequila from my bottle of Jose Cuervo Especial Reposado and returned to watch the film whilst sharing a drink with Roger.

4. The fan in the "Comfortably Numb" singalong (Saw it at a friends last night and I should be buying the DVD or Blu-Ray on Friday) and her "had a fever","fleeting glimpse" confusion!

And I'm going to break my own rule just the once.

5. The fan who clearly has a lot of significance for "Another Brick In The Wall (Part 2)" as it starts.

6. Graham Broad's drumming is better than the two drummers that had in the 1980 full band shows.
