Oh my god.
I've said it before: Rick was Pink. Rick was what made Piper and Division Bell into Pink Floyd, and his absence is what made Final Cut and AMLOR... not. Rick was my favorite keyboardist, one of my favorite songwriters, and I know I'll be playing Wet Dream and Ummagumma tonight.
RIP Rick Wright, and RIP Pink Floyd.

Re: Richard Wright Dies Age 65 - 1943 - 2008 - Pay Respects Here
I can't believe it. I received this email from a local floyd site, with the subject "Richard Wright dies", and I just thought it was a virus or something, because, how could that be true??? he just did a tour with gilmour, and he seemed so healthy. We didn't even heard he was ill. I'm shocked and very sad at the same time.
Mr. Richard Wright was a vital part in the music of Pink Floyd. I could even say that if we are able to recognize the style of Pink Floyd's music is thanks to his keyboard playing. His collaboration was essential. This is a great loss. Now my favourite line up is incomplete I was always hoping Pink Floyd could reunite with all of them together: Gilmour, Waters, Wright and Mason, like they did back in 2005, but this time, to do like a small world tour. Damn, this is sad. Rest in peace, Mr. Wright, we'll never forget you, you'll be missed.
Charade I am

The stress just ate him alive. His most awesome work was on Animals. Too bad he didn't get due credit.

Terrible news - very shocking and abrupt. He was a huge part of the Pink Floyd sound. I'll always remember how happy he looked during Comfortably Numb at Live 8. Despite another reunion being impossible now, I find it good to know that he enjoyed that last show. May he rest in peace...

R.I.P Richard !
A true legend, such a great player. your playing will forever be part of my daily life. I listen to floyd almost every day. Without Rick there is no pink Floyd.

Just like the morning I found out Syd Barrett had passed on this really bummed my whole day out. I immediately went to my keyboard and played "The Great Gig In The Sky". Now he's actually playing that gig in the sky, and he'll forever be missed through his music.

I cant believe he is gone...just, this is so sad. I really dont know what to say.... Well, at least his struggle with cancer is over, and Im positive we're all much better off for him having lived, certainly giving us the gift of such wonderful music to soothe, heal, forget, and remember to. Rest In Peace, and may God rest your soul.
