Anyone been foolish enough to purchase shares in the IPO of Facebook?
Looking at the size of their market capitalisation and their revenue, they are completely out of sync. That company is so over-valued it is actually beyond belief.

Re: Facebook Stocks and Shares
It makes me think of the dot com bubble that happened in the late 1990s/early 2000s. I'm no expert on such matters but I get the impression that they've not quite cracked how to make money from advertising on websites. That seems to be the hinge on which most of these things swing. People don't and won't pay to use sites like Facebook if they can avoid it. There's also the risk that some new kid on the block will come in and steal their thunder. It happened with MySpace, it happened with Bebo...

By 2015 over 50% of the internet will be viewed on a mobile smartphone. Facebook is feeling the march from desktop to mobile as they have no advertising on mobile!!! Facebook is over!

Facebook and some banker types are getting sued over this...
...and in other news, there are lots of people who say Facebook should buy Research in Motion to help solve their mobile issues...

RIM is on its way down too due to better offerings from the likes of Samsung and the continued success of Apple i products which are more over-priced wares. I guess sponsored stories in people's news feeds are what we will be seeing in the near future with Facebook. They are already in testing in some countries, New Zealand from memory,

Tell them you're no corporate lapdog
There are ads on some smartphone apps but I for one never take a blind bit of notice of them. What I wouldn't like though is to have to sit through a 20 or 30 second ad before the page I want loads up. That's already happening on YouTube etc. and it's not nice.
