Guy
Now c'mon guys, be fair - You're pulling quotes out of context.
Pratt's a great bassist - no question. As a bassist myself, I can appreciate his command of the instrument. Roger, on the other hand, is a utilitarian bass player - he's solid but relies on little if any "flash". In both concert videos, Guy Pratt was ALL flash. I think he tended to overshadow the music rather than support it.
Guy has admitted that he was somewhat liberal in his past interpretations of some of the classic PF cuts. I expect that if he's on the Gilmour tour, he'll go back to a more Roger-esque style of bass playing - for the Floyd tunes anyway. THAT's why I feel he deserves another chance.

He wasn't as bad as raphael ravenscroft, who basically acted the same, with similar talent and worse hair (believe it or not).PublicImage wrote:Great words.dearboy wrote:But as for Scott (The Mullet) Paige, I hope I'll never again have to endure his ridiculous showboating or yelling into his sax. Excellent point! Tucking the pant legs into his boots was another egregious fashion felony. However, since he played the sax intro for Gerry Rafferty's "Baker Street", I feel that feat alone has earned him a pass. He'll get no grief from me.
