you think the island reference is to that island down from his Astoria recording boat that he mentions on the 3 Men in a Boat clip?

I dunno about the artwork. If it didn't say "David Gilmour" on the cover I'd assume that it was the new "David Hasselhoff" record.

interesting, I emailed his website last month:

20 Dec 2005
Just wondering if you are to be involved on David's On An Island album cover? I do hope so.
Thanks for your time,
Adam

and to my surprise, he replied:

29 Dec 2005
not at the moment i fear but all hope springs eternal
cheers storm

and i don't see anything on his site about it?

Mmm very odd indeed. Someone told me Storm had done the cover but I could well be mistaken. That same someone works for Bluish who do Pink Floyds and Gilmours websites.

What a strange cover, I mean to use the Geralde Scarfe-like style writing seems a bit strange - Something waters would do.

Rick's last album has by far the coolest solo PF cover (syd's Barrett is 2nd)...this Gilmour one, if it is the one we end up getting, is odd.
It is on his website you shmuck!

Actually, today, if you go to the discography section, it doesn't come up, but if you then go to the news section and back to the dicography its there...etc. weird

It's the best David Gilmour solo album cover.I have a feeling the back cover will be the same kind of thing.

It's beautiful.

I really like it. What scares me is how it's almost exactly the same imagery as in a recurring dream of mine.

Damn it I want this album right now!
